Chrysoprase was used by many ancient cultures in ornamental objects and jewelry including the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. It was even believed to have the power to turn the wearer invisible. Prussia's Frederick the Great so loved the stone that he commissioned two tables made of chrysoprase. Chrysoprase is even mentioned in the Bible and is therefore considered to be the tenth in the walls of the heavenly Jerusalem.
